Wasteland 2 Opening Movie Released

The Kickstarter success,Wasteland 2, is coming to closer and closer to completion. With a release being set for August on PC, Mac, and Linux,  inXile Entertainment had released on their Youtube yesterday, an opening live-action movie for their post-apocalyptic RPG game.

For those who haven’t been playing or enjoying the game’s Early Access, get up to speed with this opening live-action movie that was released, telling you the story of the events leading up to Wasteland 2. The apocalypse destroying itself in nuclear war lead up to the post-apocalypse, and created people like the Desert Rangers who roam the land to help others from criminals, cannibals, and cultists. The first moments you will experience in Wasteland 2, will be attending a funeral, just like the funeral you see in the video below.

With InXile releasing this opening live-action movie, you will see what sets Wasteland apart from other RPGs. You can loss the amount of people in your party, if anyone in your party dies, they will not come back from death. Now that your party has been going down because of them dying, you will have to bring on some new recruits to your party. You have a choice of who you recruit between bandits, rapists, or mutated sheep farmers. ‘The ne’er do wells can refuse orders, keep a firm grip on their equipment, and generally be untrusting.’

Gamespot mentions that Wasteland 2 “spectacularly balances the older style of classic PC RPGs and more modern sensibilities.”

Wasteland 2 raised over $2.9 million on Kickstarter back in 2012, making it the seventh most successful Kickstarter project on the site. You can read more about Wasteland 2 on our previous article here, plus visit the official site for Wasteland 2 and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
