Crack’s a new game, it’s premise is: multiple people try “cracking open a giant egg,” as its written in its video description. The multiplayer game just launched earlier today through Steam, it also released Launch trailer on its creator Rafoli’s YouTube channel to celebrate this occasion. Each player is a member of a “laboratory” where they work on it. It’s quite hard and monotonous work with a lot of surprises on the way.
In one section of the egg, as they’re cracking it with a hammer, the lab turns red and a tentacle comes out from the egg, the first person player tries to run away but it’s too late. The lab’s mechanical voice sets players’ work timetables, and it alerts the player when to work, alongside a giant timer with the words “WORK” written under it. The way to the lab consists of hallways, a play room and the lab itself where the frankly ridiculously sized egg sits.
The players’ task is to “COLLECT THE EGGSHELLS AND EXCHANGE THEM FOR EARNINGS,” and “USE YOUR EARNINGS TO UPGRADE EQUIPMENT” these are the only two rules of the game. It’s a grueling task, but there are robot helpers! Unfortunately the egg’s volatile so many things happen while you work. Interact with others, eat eggs, try to crack open the egg and shred insects. There’s never a dull day with the egg, as it can activate a magnetic shield, and different kind of bugs come out of the egg, that players need to kill. There are also various anomalies on the egg like eyes, which the players remove. On their break time, arcade mini games fill the space as well as pranks and flying in the air. Inside the egg’s shell are all sorts of insects and it’s unknown if those insects are the real inhibitors of the egg. While they work, the egg even causes minor quakes.
