Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and released on January 18, 2024, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a 2.5D side-scrolling action-adventure platformer and the latest Prince of Persia series addition. The Lost Crown’s release broke the franchise’s 13-year hiatus, receiving a fairly positive reception from players and critics alike. In the game, players take on the role of Sargon, a young warrior from the Immortals clan, on a mission to rescue the kidnapped Prince Ghassan from the cursed city of Mount Qaf. Players can make Sargon jump, slide, air-dash, or wield dual blades for combat, depending on what the gameplay calls for. The game’s world is filled with shortcuts, secret rooms, and puzzles, featuring Metroidvania elements. As with other Prince of Persia properties, The Lost Crown draws heavily from Persian mythology. The Lost Crown’s dev team worked to modernize the franchise’s image, however, using visual designs influenced by modern culture.
Ubisoft recently revealed that they plan on releasing Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to the Apple App Store and Google play store in April via a post on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. The post reveals that the game will be made available to mobile gamers with a custom port.
Oh? What’s that? Is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown coming to mobile with a custom port?
