Today, Sony released post on their official blog to announce that three new official color ways for the PS5 DualSense wireless controllers and five new official PS5 console covers will be available for purchase starting in January 2022. The three additional colors for the DualSense wireless controllers are Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. These new colors will join the preexisting color way line-up, which includes Cosmic Red and Midnight Black, to complete the galaxy-inspired collection.
Sony has also announced matching PS5 console covers that will be sold separately from the DualSense controllers and the PS5 console to complete the look. These console covers will allow you to customize your PS5’s appearance, where you can pop in your new console covers to replace the original white PS5 console cover. Like the controllers, the five new colorways are Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. The console covers will be available for the PS5 with the Ultra HD Blu-ray drive and the PS5 Digital Edition, as stated in Sony’s blog post.
According to the announcement details, the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red console covers will release first before the three remaining color ways. The Midnight Black and Cosmic Red PS5 console covers will release in January 2022 within these locations: USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines. Following that release, the Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue PS5 console covers will release during the first half of 2022 in these same locations. Sony has also stated in their blog post that they plan to release the console covers in additional territories throughout the year and will make announcements about those plans when the details become available.
