It has been a little over a month since E3 has graced our presence for the year. With the given time, many of the games shown at the convention have now started to sink in. With this in consideration, we have taken the time to present to you the top 10 most exciting games to be showcased at E3 2018.
10. Anthem
Bioware’s next title is decidedly a departure from the company’s usual style. Anthem bears resemblance to a cross between Halo and Destiny, though not much has been revealed of its plot yet. Time will reveal more of Anthem’s story-driven pieces. We did get a look at the Javelin exosuits that players will be spending their time in (and accompanying jetpacks), as humanity survives the tough world of Anthem using Javelin technology.

9. Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game got a great deal of hype, despite the fact that we still don’t have many details about Death Stranding. The PS4 exclusive got an extended trailer at E3, while still not revealing much about the game beyond intriguing visuals and a bit of gameplay. Because of the game’s constant mystery, fans are holding out for the next bit of information that Hideo Kojima will put out for the game. Despite finally showing gameplay, we are still left with more questions than answers, and we likely will only start to make sense of things once the game finally comes out.

8. The Last of Us Part II
At E3, Sony went deep with The Last of Us Part II. We got a stunning trailer, with both story elements and gameplay—which hadn’t previously been shown in any teasers. Ellie is featured in two starkly different elements; she shares a tender moment in the cinematic section of the trailer, while the gameplay section shows off tense moments of stealth and fast-paced combat. The gameplay also showed that players will still have many dynamic ways to approach situations in the world of The Last of Us. In addition, there was a complete absence of Joel, which has left many fans worried about his fate.

7. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey
Ubisoft is taking a new approach with the next addition to the Assassin’s Creed saga. Odyssey will take us to ancient Greece, and offer more branching decisions and opportunities to define your player character through dialogue and quests. Also, it was revealed that players will be able to play as either a male or female lead. We even got a look at some of the combat as well as the RPG elements (which seem to be similar to the ones present in Assassin’s Creed: Origins). Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will be coming out on October 5.

6. Beyond Good & Evil 2
This long-awaited sequel got a cinematic trailer that shows off a new beginning for the IP. The trailer had some of the most impressive CG in a trailer that we have ever seen, and it also got some impressive shots of ships traversing outer space. The cinematic even features an appearance from Jade, the original protagonist of Beyond Good and Evil. What is interesting is that Jade appears to be the antagonist this time around, and this has left many fans curious as to what direction the story will be taking for the long awaited followup to Beyond Good and Evil.

5. Metro Exodus
The new Metro Exodus trailer Microsoft displayed the first-person shooter’s wild Russian locales. Inspired by the apocalyptic sci-fi prose of Dmitry Glukhovsky, the game is also story-driven and spans out across a year for players to experience. The story this time around revolves around Dmitry trying to find a place to call home for his people outside the metros of Moscow. The world has changed, and air is now breathable. With a demo available at E3, players got the very first chance to try out the highly dynamic, expansive, anything-goes world that Metro Exodus has to offer. The title will be coming out on February 22 of 2019.

4. Fallout 76
Bethesda surprised fans with Fallout 76’s announcement before E3. During the event, the fully online multiplayer game was given a more thorough introduction. It’s set in West Virginia, it’s about four times the size of Fallout 4, and you’ll be able to befriend (or make enemies of) other players at will. You will also be able to team up with your friends to take on the freshly-torn wasteland of West Virginia. While we are not sure how this new Fallout title will function precisely at this moment, the B.E.T.A for the game will reveal much about this highly anticipated title. Fallout 76 will launch on November 14.

3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Nintendo’s preview of the latest edition of this fighting series promises to feature every single Smash Bros. character. In addition, two brand new fighters will be entering the fray: Inklings from Splatoon, and the long requested Ridley from Metroid. In addition, some characters will have slight variations of themselves, called echo fighters. Some will need to be unlocked, of course, but enough battles will do the trick. Each stage will also have their respective battlefield and final destination variations. We will even get new and improved mechanics that build off of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, so this will effectively serve as the replacement to Smash 4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out on December 7 as an exclusive for the Switch.

2. Halo Infinite
We don’t know much about Halo: Infinite yet, but Microsoft offered a look at a new world to play in with the reveal trailer. What is most exciting about this newly announced title is that it is the next mainline title in the Halo games, its visual style seems to be more reminiscent of the earlier Halo titles, and that this is a direct sequel to Halo 5. This was quite the surprise initially, since Halo 5 was released nearly 3 years ago, and we really haven’t heard of any info on the latest entry in quite a while. Halo Infinite will be coming to both Xbox and PC.

1.Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 has been eagerly awaited after CD Projekt Red’s Witcher series, and we got an interesting trailer at E3. Players take on the persona of V, a hired gun in the world of Cyberpunk. One thing is for sure: Cyberpunk’s look is totally different from The Witcher 3, and if the trailer is anything to go by, Cyberpunk is going to be one explosive ride.
