Sudden Strike 4 Announced for Spring 2017

The latest installment in the World War II, real time strategy franchise, Sudden Strike has been announced by Kalypso Media and Kite Games. Sudden Strike 4 will be the first Sudden Strike game to be released in 6 years, the last one being Sudden Strike: The Last Stand which was released in 2010.

A big selling point on the advertising for Sudden Strike 4 is improved graphics. The idea being that the upgraded graphics will allow the player to have a more “realistic” experience with their game.  The player will be able to control the allied, soviet, or German forces with more than 100 different kinds of units at their disposal. Sudden Strike 4 is introducing the use of real life commanders into this latest installment. Players can choose from 9 historical figures like George Patton or Bernard Montgomery. Each leader will also have their own unique perks, combat styles, and abilities. Sudden Strike 4 also boasts more than 20 single player campaigns, a “skirmish” mode, and what they refer to as an “ultra-competitive” online multiplayer experience. There is also an emphasis on the ability for the players to have total liberty when it comes to how they will resolve different combat situations. Whether through the use of clever flanking and positioning, air strikes, ambushes, or a myriad of other strategies; how the player takes out the enemy forces is completely up to them. There will also be mod support for Sudden Strike 4 through Steam Workshop.

Sudden Strike 4 is currently available for pre-order on the Steam Store. Sudden Strike 4 also currently has a promotion going on for pre-purchases of the game. The digital pre-purchase includes the game at a 15% discount, Sudden Strike 4’s original soundtrack, an exclusive skirmish map called “The Battle of Kursk”,and a digital art book for Sudden Strike 4.

Sudden Strike 4, is set to be released in Spring of 2017 for the PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, and Linux. A trailer for Sudden Strike 4 can be viewed below.

Carlos Barragan: likes video games. He likes them so much, in fact, that he writes about them. He likes other stuff too.
