Sloclap Brings Sifu’s Release Two Weeks Ahead, Will Officially Launch February 8, 2022

2021 has seen it’s fair shares of delays, most of which are due to the world wide effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. A lot of these titles were pushed into 2022, some into the first quarter, and some much later. One of these titles, the aptly named Sifu, was initially set for a late 2021 release, but was delayed to February 22, 2022. Now, developer Sloclap has announced that they will be changing the release date again, only this time they’re going to push the title’s launch forward, a very rare instance in the video game industry. Sifu will now officially launch on February 8, 2022, a full two week difference from the original date.

Apparently, Sloclap has been making excellent progress and as a result, decided to push the release date forward. While two weeks doesn’t seem like a heavy difference, it’s still impressive to see this kind of thing happen, especially during a worldwide pandemic. The studio also put out a very brief trailer that shows some gameplay, all of which use the unique art style and décor that fits the martial arts style for the title. At the end of the trailer, it’s also revealed that they will have a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition, both of which you can pre-order now for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

It’s also notable that the title’s date was moved up from February 22 to February 8, as the former date had the game sandwiched between two of the most anticipated releases for 2022. The first is Horizon: Forbidden Westwhich is currently slated for February 18, while the second is easily one of the most hyped titles of the year, Elden Ringwhich has a February 25 date. It’s important to note that Sloclap and Sony did not confirm that this had any factor in moving the title up to its new date, but it’s definitely something that did not go unnoticed.

Sifu will officially launch on February 8, 2022, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
