Recently, Scarlet Nexus developed by Bandai Namco announced that the upcoming action role-playing game will be available on June 25, 2021. The game is being produced by Keita Iizuka and directed by Kenji Anabuki who both have worked on the popular Tales series. The company also revealed their plans for an anime for the game and a new character trailer. The show is being produced by Sunrise and will premier in July 2021 on Funimation after the release of the game.
The game follows two characters Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall who must protect humanity from monsters who threaten humanity’s survival. Each character has a unique storyline that is specific to their character. Both characters have short-range sword weapons. They also have psychokinesis–the ability to control objects with the mind–due to the advancement in technology and the discovery of a psionic hormone. However, players must work to improve their psychokinesis ability, and as they gain experience and meet other companions along the way, more abilities will be unlocked. To defeat enemies, players must be able to create combos using both their sword attacks and psychokinetic powers. The recent trailer introduces Kasane showing off her design, abilities, and gameplay as well as the futuristic world of Scarlet Nexus.
While there is not a lot of information regarding the anime, the trailer showed the two main characters, so fans can assume it will probably follow their journeys to save humanity.
