Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Delayed Again To A Later Date

Last year, a rumor spoiled the reveal of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake during the September Ubisoft Forward event. The game is the first remake that Ubisoft has done and is full-scale remake with new enemy character models, new cinematic sequences, and enhanced voices, sounds, parkour animations, and soundtrack. Initially, it was set to be released on January 21, 2021. Then in December, the remake was delayed to March 18, 2021. Now, the developers have announced that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been delayed indefinitely with no new date announced.

The dev team took to Twitter to share the announcement, saying “Since announcing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in September, we saw an outpouring of feedback from you on this beloved franchise. It is your passion and support that is driving our development teams to make the best game possible. With that said, we have made the decision to shift the release for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to a later date. This extra development time will enable our teams to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original. We understand the update might come as a surprise and we will continue to keep you posted on the progress of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. In the meantime, we want to thank you all for your ongoing support.”

Alongside the graphical updates to the game, the devs wanted to enhance the gameplay with adjustments to the camera and combat. There is also a targeting system to the game that game director Pierre-Sylvain Gires “enhanced the velocity of the prince and his abilities to do amazing performance and amazing moves.”

When the game gets released, it will be available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
