New Resident Evil Village Gameplay, New Demo, & More Announced During The Latest Resident Evil Showcase

The last Resident Evil Showcase shared the first look at gameplay for Resident Evil Village and announced the release date of Resident Evil Village which is set to release next month on May 7 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and Google Stadia. The Showcase also provided look at some of the ways that Capcom is celebrating the franchise’s 25th anniversary. Last week, Capcom announced that another Resident Evil Village Showcase would be taking place today. The Showcase revealed a new look at the game, announced another demo will be available prior to the game’s launch and announced more things in celebration of the 25th anniversary.

The latest trailer for the game reveals a little bit more of the village where the game takes place, showing sneak peeks at the many different environments that players will travel to and the many different enemies that the player will have to face. In the trailer, we can get a look at an immense underground factory that may be mass producing humanoid creatures as well as a vast man-made lake that could be the home of a colossal aquatic monster. The trailer also focuses on Heisenberg, the mysterious character that was present in the last Resident Evil Showcase but wasn’t really talked about. His role remains unclear in Ethan Winters’ quest to find his daughter. Chris Redfield also makes an appearance in the trailer with very questionable motives.

Capcom has revealed the return of the fan-favorite game mode, “The Mercenaries”. Players must complete increasingly challenging objectives before the time runs out. The Mercenaries game mode is unlocked after beating the main campaign. The Duke merchant appears in the mode and offers weapons and upgrades for the player. You can also acquire abilities that enhance weapons or physical abilities.

In the last Showcase, a limited-time demo was announced. More demos will be available starting on May 1 at 5 pm PT for North America, South America, and Latin America residents. The demo is available only for 24 hours and players can explore the village and castle areas for up to 60 minutes. This will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia.

Additionally, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players will have two early access opportunities where there will be an 8-hour window to play 30 minutes for each section.
