FromSoftware is a Japanese gaming studio that has been on a steady rise over the last decade due to the sheer number of fantastic games it has released, such as Sekiro and Elden Ring. With so many fantastic games, many players look to what comes next. With their last release, Elden Ring Nightreign, people are locked in on FromSoftware, and that’s where their upcoming title comes in. In 2025, they announced The Duskbloods, a player-versus-player-versus-environment multiplayer action game, which was set to come to Switch 2 in 2026, but it has now been officially delayed to 2027. The reasoning is player feedback from the August playtest, as the game needs more time to be polished for release.
“During the network test in August 2026, we saw active interest in the core concepts of the game, including direct combat, strategic depth, and player expression. To further enhance these aspects of the game and improve the player experience, we have made the decision to move the release window, allowing time for final adjustments to game rules and balancing.
We offer our sincere apologies to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title. Your understanding and patience are greatly appreciated,” said FromSoftware in a press release.
The Duskbloods is a player-versus-player-versus-environment multiplayer action game, a Switch 2 exclusive from FromSoftware. The game was originally scheduled for release in 2026 but has now been delayed. In August, a playtest encountered many problems, including matchmaking and overall gameplay. FromSoftware has taken player feedback and has now decided to push the game to 2027, as it is in its final stages of adjustment and plans to iron out the problems.
“While development of The Duskbloods is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027,” FromSoftware said in a message. “We apologize to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title and thank you for your patience and support.”
