In an announcement early today on the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that new PlayStation VR game is coming soon to the platform. This new title, named Wanderer, was created by the New Zealand indie studios Oddboy and M Theory and appears to concern time travel.
Wanderer is set in a universe where time-traveling exists and players must travel back in time in order to “reshape humanity’s fortune.” The game starts with Asher Neumann in her grandfather’s apartment in an apocalyptic timeline when she comes across various artifacts – one of which lets her time travel. From there, players will journey through different eras in history like the 1500s where players will have to help kings and queens or even the 1940s where they will help find traitors during World War ll. The trailer teases some locations and people we are expected to see in our adventure.
While players make their way through time and space in Wanderer, there will be a variety of gameplay from escape-room-like puzzles to full-on action sequences to complete. This title also makes use of the PlayStation move controllers and VR experience to experience and bring to life the beautiful worlds the players will journey through. This game follows the recent announcement of Sony’s next-gen VR system which includes some overall enhancement as well as a redesign of the controller in order to take advantage of the DualSense feature.
Wanderer is set to release sometime this year in the third quarter which lasts from July to September. Until then, Sony’s Play at Home initiative is still going on which is offering ten PlayStation games for free, including a couple of VR games, until April 22.
