Marvel’s Spider-Man New Game Plus Mode Available Today

Insomniac Games has announced details of their newest update for Marvel’s Spider-Man which is available for download today and it brings in the long-awaited New Game Plus mode. One of the other notable things added includes a new difficulty mode called ‘Ultimate’. There are also new things that have been added to the popular photo mode and fixes for some issues that were happening in the game. The full patch notes can be seen here.

The New Game Plus mode allows players to have all the unlocked benchmarks, gadgets, mods, skills, and suits from the start of the game. In addition, any trophy hunters are in luck as the update brings in two new trophies: one for beating the NG+ mode and one for beating the game on the newest difficulty. The photo mode has new frames and stickers, and an option to rotate layers if you would like to. Instead of having to pause the game to get into photo mode, a shortcut has also been created; all you have to do now is press the left button on the d-pad.

Some of the new fixes that were included in the patch include issues with pedestrians disappearing, players respawning in buildings, animations breaking during cutscenes, combat music persisting after clearing a Sable Base, and a crash related to graphical artifacting. Another fix included the friendly difficulty’s combat being tuned based on player feedback. In preparation for the launch of the DLC next week, additional support was given to the game.

Earlier this week, Insomniac Games provided a look at the three new suits that will be added as part of this DLC. In addition to the new suits, new enemies and factions will be added as well. ‘The Heist’ is just the first of three story packs that comprise “The City That Never Sleeps”. The story centers around a robbery that brings Spider-Man face-to-face with Black Cat, who had a small role in the main game. It will be available on October 23.
