Looks like someone pulled the trigger a little too early over at Square Enix. A trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III Re:MIND DLC trailer was uploaded last night on their YouTube channels, only for them to be made private not too long after, effectively taking them down. Even though the trailer was removed from the official channels, some Youtuber’s have re-uploaded them for everyone to see. The big part about the trailer is that it reveals when the DLC will be releasing, January 23, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and February 25, 2020 for the Xbox One.

Despite being pulled, some of the information pertaining to the trailer has made its way across the internet. For the sake of spoilers we won’t go into it, but we will say that it does involve Sora attempting to rescue Kairi, therefore taking place at the end of the Kingdom Hearts III story. We also get to see some of the gameplay that Re:MIND will be offering, which includes what looks like a playable Kairi with a specialized Keyblade. Those of you who have played through the base game are probably aware of what’s going on at this point, but for everyone else it’s going to be a bit of a mess, so it would probably be best to catch a refresher of the entire narrative up to this point.
It’s more than likely that the trailer was being saved for either the final State of Play for 2019 or The Game Awards, both of which are taking place next week. Re:MIND was originally announced in early Spring of this year, with some more information being revealed earlier this month. This included the already mentioned Photo Mode, Slideshow Mode, Fast Pass Mode, and Black Code, all of which are in-game modifiers that allow the player to change things up with some variety if they’re feeling stagnated with the standard pacing. This along with the new story, characters, and new game mechanics means that Re:MIND is probably going to be chalked full of hours upon hours of content.
What’s really interesting is that if the dates are accurate, then the PS4 owners of Kingdom Hearts III will be getting Re:MIND more than a month before Xbox One owners. This wouldn’t be the first time that Sony has claimed a piece of content for themselves before Microsoft, similarly to the Spec Ops Survival mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The main difference here is that Re:MIND will be readily available for everyone in a much shorter time-span. Still, we’re not sure why it’s being brought to PlayStation 4 first.
Kingdom Hearts III Re:MIND will launch for the PlayStation 4 on January 23, 2020 and for the Xbox One on February 25, 2020.
