Tetsuya Nomura took to the stage during the event to share information with fans on what’s in store for the latest installment in the Kingdom Hearts series.
Titled “Re:MIND” for now, the paid portion of the DLC is set to include a brand new scenario with the same name, a Limit Cut episode and a boss. There will also be a Secret Episode and a boss to go with it. Those who own a Japanese version of the game will be able to change the language to English as well, but changing an English version to Japanese was not mentioned.
“Re:MIND” will also include free content–a new Form and new Keyblade for everyone who owns a copy of Kingdom Hearts III. Nomura didn’t share what this free content was exactly, but it may have something to do with the recent Critical Mode update. Critical Mode, also available for free, ups the ante and makes the game more challenging for players as well as adds two new items: Proof of Promises and Proof of Times Past.
Twitter user @YanilynGaming shared a summary of the announcement from the event.

Pricing details or a release schedule were not shared during the event. Nomura stated somewhat cryptically that more information will come when Japan’s rainy season begins, which for Westerners means the end of June.
It appears that Kingdom Hearts III may be on a similar DLC s schedule as Final Fantasy XV, also by Square Enix. Final Fantasy XV released in 2016 and received two years of DLC updates, but this ceased when Director Hajime Tabata resigned from Square Enix in 2018 to launch his own company.
Kingdom Hearts III is available now for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
