Publisher Kasedo Games has announced their plan to release real-time strategy, “Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons,” in Q4 2014. The game, developed by indie studio, Camel 101, will be released globally, via digital distribution, for Mac, PC, and Linux.
The game puts players in charge of the Black Talons company. The Black Talons are a fearless group of mercenaries who provide military support, for a fee.
In a war-torn galaxy, the setting of “Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons,” warlords overthrow government and destroy cities to advance their conquest. Within the government, corruption is highly prevalent. The Black Talons are called to keep peace, but are trapped during their assignment, due to an enemy military union blocking exits from the Oberon System. Their goal becomes one of survival, and they must retake the planet.
The Black Talons have supplies, squads, bases, and mech warriors that can be taken under control by the player. Squads can be customized, and there are specialized mercenary classes with distinctive abilities and skill trees. There are five worlds to play on, and each has special environments, in which climate effects the pace and strategy of battle. Player actions effect the balance of power and relations between factions. These, in turn, effect missions and can provide the player with unique characters to command.
