During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2022, a new trailer was released for Gotham Knights. The new story trailer highlighted several other villains that Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood will have to go up against in addition to the Court of Owls. The trailer also revealed new release date for the game, but this time, it’s not another delay. Instead, the game got bumped up from October 25 to the new release date of October 21.
In Gotham Knights, “Batman is dead. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City. It is now up to the Batman Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin; to protect Gotham, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, you must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save the streets from descent into chaos.”
When the game was initially revealed, we learned that Mr. Freeze would be a foe that players will have to face but after today’s trailer, we understand that he is not the only supervillain going up against the Batfamily. The new trailer revealed Clayface and Harley Quinn will play roles in the narrative.
According to the YouTube description of the Official Villains trailer, each party is trying to take over Gotham City. With Batman gone, Gotham policeman Renee Montoya follows in Jim Gordon’s footsteps and calls for the assistance of the Batfamily. The trailer also highlights the Penguin so while these villains have been revealed, players may have to go up against more. Who will they have to face is something we’ll learn when the game releases on October 21, 2022, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
