Futurama is Fortnite’s Next Big Crossover

Futurama is the next major crossover coming to Fortnite. In a post teasing the upcoming content today on Twitter, (or X now), Fortnite previewed a short video for the announcement. The video copies that of the Futurama shows’ intro with the Planet Express ship, Old Bessie crashing into a billboard in Mega City in the Fortnite map. Including such is a livestream set to go live tomorrow, July 26th at 5am EST/ 2am PST.

Often with franchise collabs in Fortnite sees a slew of new skins, items, and even Futurama-related quests into the game. Skins could include characters like Bender, Fry, and Leela, among others. What is seemingly already confirmed from the teaser trailer is the Planet Express ship which players can presumably ride around in.

The Futurama crossover into Fortnite comes ahead of Season 11 of Futurama on Disney+. The show first aired in 1999 from Simpsons creator Matt Groening. Over its years, it attracted a large cult following, however, was canceled and revived on and off over that time.

Fortnite is essentially a mayhem of pop culture franchises brought into the Battle Royale. Previous crossovers and collabs over the years have seen Rick and Morty, Marvel heroes, My Hero Academia, Stranger Things, and so many, many more. In essence, Fortnite has become an ad almost for specific franchises ahead of respective releases to increase hype.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 is its latest season which began on June 9th. Season 3 saw the introduction of the wilds brought to the map, along with jungle-related skins, items and even traversal like sliding faster through mud, and grinding on vines while using a weapon.
