Forager Coming to Mobile Devices on September 24th

As the mobile market continues to gain more attention, game publisher Humble Bundle announced a new player to be released on September 24th: Forager. Originally released in 2018, Forager will be added to the App Store and Google Play to play on the go towards the end of the month. The game has still been an increasingly popular game for fans for years, due to the various features and concept of relaxing gameplay. Therefore, there is much to expect upon its release.

Ever since launch, game developer HopFrog has received worldwide attention for the game concept. Critics call it “a game that gives you joy from the minute you start playing” (The Indie Game Website, Steam) or “an immensely satisfying game…and worthwhile investment in the long run.” (IGN Japan, Steam). In simple terms, Forager is a 2D open-world adventure inspired by long-time favorites such as Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Terraria, and Zelda. In each of these games, players can explore, farm, and craft anything in the game. Become a farmer and grow crops out of nothing, raid dungeons to find lost treasures, solve puzzles, gain new abilities to defend personal builds, and more. With no rules to follow, simply have the world to yourself.

The idea of Forager is also personal. The roles as a farmer, a gatherer, a merchant, adventurer, and builder provide a personal gaming experience that is to be therapeutic. The flexibility and freedom players receive within this game is why “you’re not stressing out when you’re playing” – stated in a gameplay interview for Forager. On top of the current features, Steam is providing additional features to optimize this therapeutic experience. Venture out to new lands and biomes (e.g. deserts, graveyards, snowy mountains, volcanoes, etc), meet up with new companions, find new artifacts and display them in a personal museum, and customize over 16 new skills to master. In combination with the game concept, player support with new additions may be a strong factor in the game’s overall success even after two years of its release.

Check out the game on Steam – with limited time 40% sale off today. Again, Forager is releasing on September 24th for iOS and Android users. Stay tuned for more information on games at mxdwn.com.

UPDATE: Forager’s mobile release has been delayed to 2021.
