Motive Studio’s livestream for the Dead Space Remake is finally here and the developer was finally ready to unveil some more information. While the stream itself mostly covered the game’s audio design, they did reveal one important tidbit of information for us, the release time frame. In the livestream, Motive Studios officially announced that Dead Space Remake will launch in early 2023, approximately one year from now.
While they didn’t provide a more concrete date, we still have a very good idea of when the game will release. It also narrows it down to within a few months being January-April, as well as giving us something to look forward to at the beginning of next year. Motive Studios also introduced the ALIVE System, which is an acronym for Adrenaline, Limbic System Response, Intelligent Dialogue, Vitals, and Exertions, quite a mouthful. This new system controls Isaac’s heart rate, breathing, dialogue, and overall well-being. Whenever Isaac hurts himself or is overexerting his body, the game’s audio will pick up and give the player a much bigger perspective on how much trauma Isaac is going through in each situation.
Getting a reboot of the first entry is already amazing in an of itself, but this new system makes going through the trademark horror segments something else entirely. Motive Studios also stated that their next livestream for Dead Space Remake will take place sometime in May, and will focus on the art style of the game. As the year progresses we’re sure to learn some more about the Dead Space Remake, and possibly a more concrete release date. For the time being, we’re more than content with the early 2023 time frame. The ALIVE System alone has us excited to go through a hallway filled to the brim with necromorphs.
