Cyberpunk 2077 Is Going Back On The PlayStation Store Next Week

Last year, Sony did something no one saw coming after they removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store due to the poor performance of the game when it launched. Over the past 7 months, CD Projekt Red has released numerous updates to make the game better. However, no word was given about when the game would be back to the PlayStation Store. Last month, CD Projekt Red provided an update on the matter saying that they were still working with Sony, but nothing official was announced until now. In regulatory disclosure, CD Projekt Red revealed that the game will be available on the PlayStation Store next week on June 21.

PlayStation confirmed the news in a statement to Polygon. A Sony spokesperson said, “SIE can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-listed on PlayStation Store starting June 21, 2021. Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. SIE recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience.”

It has been a long road for Cyberpunk 2077 since its release last year. Following the removal of the game on the PlayStation Store, many consumers wanted to get refunds. Then came the issues of the bugs and glitches that CD Projekt Red had to fix. This all lead to class-action lawsuit being filed against the company by some of its investors.

Earlier this year, Co-Founder Marcin Inwinski released video apology and outlined what’s coming next for the game throughout the year. This includes additional updates and improvements, free DLC, and a free, next-gen console update for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

CD Projekt Red also revealed their plans for the future which includes multiple games and expansions for both The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises. So, whatever happens, going forward, CD Projekt Red has revealed that it remains invested in the Cyberpunk IP.
