Ponderosa Games, LLC is an independent game development studio founded in 2024 by developers Tisa and John who left behind their corporate and software development careers to pursue a shared passion for digital games. Their debut game, Catagrams, is inspired by their love for two cats named Simon and Olive, who the developers describe as “our coaches, companions, and constant sources of inspiration!”

Catagrams is a cozy word-based puzzle game where players solve crossword-style puzzles all designed with a cat-centered aesthetic in-mind. The game’s puzzle mechanics specifically involve arranging letter tiles to form correct words at varying levels of difficulty. Completing these puzzles allows players to unlock special scenes and earn accessories for a collection of adorable cat companions. Tiny hats, scarves, and bow ties are just few examples of the available attire. Catagrams also features Daily Challenges and events, encouraging players to check in consistently for new challenges.

The game, which was originally announced in late September 2024, successfully launched on iOS and Android devices just a few days ago on February 6, 2025. Catagram’s launch was announced via a post on the game’s official Facebook group, where the developers shared that they plan on “donating 50% of the proceeds from the “Treat Package” in-app purchase to a rotating cat rescue organization.” The current rescue organization is Happy Cats Haven, a non-profit adoption and rescue center located in Colorado Springs. The post includes links to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, encouraging potential players to download Catagrams right away.

Catagrams is free to download and play, but it does offer optional in-app purchases, including the “Treat Package” for $9.99, which unlocks additional features like an endless mode for limitless puzzles. More importantly, purchasing this package will send funds directly to cats in need. The game is currently available on both iOS and Android devices, for anyone interested.
