Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Judgment of Atlantis DLC will Arrive in July

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has undergone a very strong run and has received a plethora of praise with its added content. If not DLC, they have kept the game fresh with content like the story creator mode they released for everyone for free with a surprise reveal at  E3. Now, “Judgment of Atlantis”, the final DLC for the game has received a release date. Ubisoft shared a sneak peak with a screen shot of Poseidon’s Realm and the exciting news the games DLC will be available July 16, making for quite a short wait fans will appreciate.

To make the news more exciting, Fate of Atlantis Game Director Hugo Giard offered some insight into the third installment of the DLC and his optimism gives a good insight that he has produced something special for fans.

“The most fun I had was building the stories for Episode 3, Judgment of Atlantis. These stories are a culmination of all the work we did on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and the second DLC in terms of how we built our stories and our quests, and what kinds of choices we put in front of our players.

The DLC began as the “Fate of Atlantis”. Players started in episode 1 exploring the Greek afterlife in the paradise of Elysium and discovered sinister secrets were hiding behind its beautiful facade. In Episode 2, players then went into the depths of hell and faced the dead in control of the cunning Hades. In order to escape the afterlife players would have to settle the debt that Hades demands. Now, players will explore Atlantis and Hugo Giard feels it will be a a great way to close the story.

We managed to build Judgment of Atlantis to be a fitting conclusion to the design work we did for storytelling. I had an absolute blast working on that. Much of the team was enthused with building the fantastic worlds because we’re so used to building realistic worlds. From a creative perspective, that was incredibly rewarding.”

Players have enjoyed the change of pace and past expansions in  Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and will be exciting to see their reactions to the newest addition.  July 16th is just around the corner and Judgment of Atlantis will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Nathan Arquiette: Mom and Dad would never buy me a gaming console growing up, so I bought my own Dreamcast when I was 10 years old. Ever since then my passion for gaming went wild. Why watch a movie or read a book when you can take part in the plot playing a game was my philosophy. "Video games rot your brain" but I had a 10th grade reading level in the 6th grade all thanks to RPG's. Talking and writing about games is something I will never get tired of.
