New Rumor Sets The Last Of Us: Part II Release For February 2020 With Multiple Editions Available To Purchase

Back in May, there was lot of anticipation that multiple upcoming PlayStation exclusives were going to be talked about in some capacity. In the end, we learned when one of them would be coming out. Death Stranding will release in November 2019, which leaves Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us: Part II. Around the same time, there were reports that The Last of Us: Part II would be coming out in February 2020, with Ghost of Tsushima releasing just before the launch of the PlayStation 5. Now, a new rumor posted on the Chinese forum A9VG is doubling down on  The Last of Us: Part II‘s release date. The post was translated by Daniel Ahmad, a video game industry analyst who also revealed the news of Death Stranding’s release date before it was officially announced.

There was more information which may or may not suggest that this is likely the release date for the game. Alongside the date, the game will launch with four different editions: Standard Edition, Special Edition, Collector’s Edition, and Ellie Edition. No other information has been revealed about what would come with each edition.

In addition to the two rumors that suggest the February 2020 release date, actress Ashley Johnson, who plays Ellie, also may have inadvertently confirmed the release date during an interview. During the interview, she gets asked when the game is coming out, then she responds kind of nonchalantly before speeding right past it.  Again, these are rumors and nothing has been officially announced yet, but it is seeming that a February 2020 release date is very likely. Plus, The Last of Us: Part II has reached some major milestones. Creative Director Neil Druckman shared news of the completion of the end cutscene and wrap on actress Laura Bailey. Also, Naughty Dog announced that they were hiring to help close out development on the game  We may learn during the next State of Play whenever Sony announces the next one. It was heavily theorized that the next State of Play would be about the big PlayStation exclusives and that they would be going into deep dives about the games; however, that was said to suppose to happen before E3 but it didn’t, so we will just have to wait and see.
