4 Player Co-op Survival Game Earthfall Gets Official Release Date

Fans of Left 4 Dead prepare yourselves.  Earthfall, 4 player co-op shooter survival game, will officially release on July 13, 2018.  The game is currently in Early Access on Steam as developers Holospark have spent over a year working to improve the game.  Like Left 4 Dead, the game focuses on 4 players trucking through waves and waves of enemies as you defend and hold positions.

Earthfall will have ten missions which will span across two campaigns where you’ll be taking on hordes of alien invaders that have ravaged the Pacific Northwest.  Instead of picking up guns randomly, they are printed out via 3D printer with more than twenty weapons available to use.  The environment will also be an important factor.  While holding your position, you can create barricades and install turrets for total fortification against the alien horde.  Earthfall will feature different types of enemies that keep the game play unpredictable and challenging.  This includes alien drones that can swarm and overwhelm your group unless you can act quickly.  Other enemies will have special abilities to confuse and create chaos for your group.  One of these aliens is featured in the trailer. In it, they warp into the field with a shield surrounding them.  You can check out the release date trailer here:

The game’s price will increase to $29.99 on its release day in July.  In addition, Gearbox will be handling the physical release of the game as well as a special edition that will cost $39.99 which inlcudes exclusive character and weapon skins.

The formula for the Left 4 Dead style hasn’t seen its peak since the 2nd iteration of the game.  Some games have tried to emulate it, and some have even tried to copy it such as Payday 2 and Warhammer: Vermintide 2.  So far, it looks like Earthfall will bring the genre back to prominence, and it makes fans like myself glee with joy over the release of this game.

Earthfall will officially release on July 13, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
