Fortnite Offers $100 Million for Competitive Gaming Prize Pools

Fortnite has come an incredibly long way since its release, and it is truly an accomplishment that the game continues to become bigger and better. After the release of Fortnite for mobile devices, the game continued to sky rocket in sales, generating an impressive revenue. Now Epic Games is striving for new milestone; a fund of $100 million for the Esports prize pool.

A lot of gamers might question why Epic Games wouldn’t just reward the entire $100 million prize by itself? Well, the developers go on to explain that their goal is to bring focus not onto who wins, but to the aspect of purely having fun playing the game; this is a generous consideration from Epic Games. Fortnite could’ve easily became an ultra competitive game with the main focus on money, which would surely eradicate the enjoyment, but Epic Games strives to keep the original integrity of Fortnite.

Since the launch of Fortnite Battle Royale we’ve watched the passion for community competition grow and can’t wait to empower you to battle with the best.

Fortnite has mastered building a community centered on executing epic kills and building impenetrable forts all in the name of fun and nothing else. This is proven with the various dances and emotes of course. The game also allows players to be creative and absolutely savage as they play, so it is greatly appreciated that Epic Games is determined not to lose touch of that rare trait with this upcoming event. With their E3 competition coming up, Fortnite will feature a prize of $3 million that will be donated to a competitors choice of charity. This is exciting news because the competitors will consist of pairings of professional gamers and celebrities, such as: Desiigner and Pokimane, Marshmello and Ninja, Gotaga and Demetrius Johnson, and many more.

This arrangement is absolutely genius and will definitely get fans hyped up over the event. For now, Epic Games has no other updates of the event, but they strongly encourages followers to visit the website and twitter page of Fortnite for upcoming news.
