Yasmine Gameplay Trailer Hits the Streets as the First Character in Street Fighter 6’s Season 4 Lineup

We’ve got a trailer for the next Street Fighter 6 character, and it’s wasn’t dropped on a random Thursday! It was dropped on a random Wednesday instead. Yasmine will be the first character released for Street Fighter 6’s Season 4, dropping on August 3rd, 2026.

Yasmine, the first character in Street Fighter 6’s controversial Season 4, drops onto the scene with a karambit knife. The first thing longtime Street Fighter players will probably notice is that her spinning boomerang blade is very reminiscent of Street Fighter fan favorite Ibuki’s V-Trigger from Street Fighter 5. The second thing longtime Street Fighter players will probably notice is that, sadly, Yasmine has a crouching medium kick that can cancel into Drive Rush which means that probably isn’t going away anytime soon.

But! We don’t have to speculate, shortly after Yasmine’s trailer dropped we were given Steam blog detailing some of her gameplay.

They describe Yasmine as a mixup focused rushdown character and they gave her an insanely fast command jump into cross-up to show you they’re not kidding. In another Street Fighter 6 staple mechanic, she revolves around an Install mode, here called Bayani Mode, which she can enter in a variety of ways, said mode then boosts her specials for a short time. Her mix from the boomerang projectile is pointed out to be intentionally good, and despite being an aggressive mixup character she does, in fact, come with an OD reversal to help her on defense to contrast other aggressive mixup characters like Kimberly.

Perhaps even bigger than a brand new character is the news that Street Fighter 6 will receive an allegedly big balance patch on Yasmine’s release to commemorate the start of Season 4. A balance patch is something the Street Fighter community have been begging for for months now, and while we’ve received tiny patches here and there it’s never been substantial. The Seasonal patches typically bring big changes to individual characters at the very least, if not the game systems in general, so we might be pleasantly surprised come Yasmine’s release on August 3rd! (Though again, they’re not removing 2mk into Drive Rush they showed that in her trailer).
