WayForward Releases New Trailer for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero at E3

Ever since its announcement three years ago on Kickstarter, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has enjoyed a respectable degree of popularity within the indie gaming community. We’ve seen our fair share of concept art, character sketches, and teasers for upcoming characters.

But until yesterday, we hadn’t seen much full footage of the game in action. A new trailer released by WayForward at E3 plunges us right into Shantae’s latest platforming adventure, complete with her trademark dancing and a song sung by Cristina Vee herself, who voices Shantae:

Notably, Shantae’s animal transformations – which were absent from Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse – have returned. We also get to see new perspectives on boss fights and the game’s platforming itself, thanks to Half-Genie Hero’s use of 3D models and environments.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is set to release on September 27, 2016 for Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.
