Two New Halo Wars 2 Characters Revealed at Comic Con

At San Diego Comic Con, three new characters were announced for 343 Industries’s new RTS game, Halo Wars 2. If you haven’t been caught up to date on the game, here’s a Story Vidoc on what to expect:

The first character on display was Isabel, a UNSC artificial intelligence.

343 mentioned that unlike Cortana, Isabel is not a military AI. She has no experience with strategy, guns, or warfare. However, she understands logistics; she managed food supplies, life systems, and power management. Her base was destroyed in a sneak attack by the Banished, a mercenary led by the antagonist of the game, the Brute Atriox. She swore revenge on him, and helps the UNSC in their ongoing campaign on the Ark.

Atriox has a large crew of bad dudes following him around the Ark, and Decimus is the one we have the pleasure of playing.

343 says that he is “ruthless, gloriously bloodthirsty, and almost unparalleled in raw physical strength.” He loves to pulverize unlucky marines with his fists, and values strength above all else. His loyalty in his leader stems from Atriox’s bold denial of the status quo of Covenant leadership. He despises the Elites, and orders them to suicide missions for daring to exist near him.

The final character revealed was Shipmaster Let’Volir.

In the wake of new Covenant leadership, he was left will little on the horizon. He was concerned that his men would starve, and their loyalty would wane. When Atriox offered him fuel and food for his ship and crew, he saw no alternative than to join him. He is still growing used to learning to take orders from the Brutes, normally a race subservient to to the Elites. He is the captain of the Enduring Conviction, and will do whatever it takes to ensure the survival of his crew.

Halo Wars 2 will release in sometime in February, 2017. It will be released for both Xbox One and PC as a “Play Anywhere” game. That means if you purchase the PC version, you will also have full access to the Xbox One game, and reversed. If you missed the first beta, you will have a second chance as we get closer to release.
