Since its release into early access on August 1st, 2025, Titan Quest II has shown numerous improvements over the original game in small areas, leaving fans excited for when the game fully released. Today, the developer, Grimlore Games, and publisher, THQ Nordic, showed off a new trailer showing off gameplay and story hints along with a release date for the full version. At the same time, the official website also released news about the upcoming release and what it means for the adventure RPG moving forward.
Drawing from the Greek mythology that inspires the game, the announcement takes on the persona of the messenger god Hermes, explaining that the final release will take into consideration all of the feedback received about the game over the past year. It is also planned to pull together all pre-existing updates along with new content in the form of additional customization options for heroes, new lands, extra powers, and new treasure available to collect.
The trailer quickly introduces players to Titan Quest II’s main antagonist, Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution from Greek mythology. She declares that she will bring punishment to the world and main character, inspiring the adventure across the world to oppose her. During the journey, players will build up their own personal character as they work alongside other figures from mythology, including even gods themselves. The gameplay portion of the trailer showcases battles against strange creatures including a four-legged beast with a tail-swipe, a flaming monster that can ignite the floor all across the arena, and a flying enemy that shoots lightning in all directions.
In a game with as much personal customization as Titan Quest II, early access serves as a valuable way to give players an idea of their preferred playstyle prior to the game’s full release. Now, each player’s builds will be put to the test when the game releases to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on January 19th, 2027.
