Fading Echo is finally coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Released back in July on Steam and accumulating over one hundred ‘Very Positive’ reviews, Fading Echo is a “fast-paced elemental action-adventure RPG” from Emeteria, New Tales, and Com2us Holdings. It is Emeteria’s debut game as developer, and the second full game to be published by New Tails. The co publisher, on the other hand, Com2us Holdings, has been an indie publisher since 2022, known for titles such as Summoners War (2024), MLB 9 Innings Rivals 26 (2025), and Summoners War: Rush (2025).
In Finding Echo, “creativity fuels combat.” Players are given the opportunity to “manipulate water, trigger chain reactions, and shift through surreal worlds” while playing as “One, a young Legend on a mission to save a dying desertscape from the grip of the Paradox corruption.” In order to survive through the end of the game, players must use One’s water like form to travel through neighboring cities in order to stop the Paradox. As for what, exactly, the Paradox is, is relatively unclear. What players do know, however, is that it “is tearing Corel apart, warping reality and consuming everything in its path.” Some of the only ways to overcome the Paradox include “mixing water “with lava, toxic waste, and Paradox corruption to trigger explosive chain reactions.” The instructions are simple: “Drench. Conduct. Solidify. Ruin their day.”
“Every element reacts. Every encounter escalates. Push the systems far enough, and they push back.” Sometimes, a player might “cross into alternate versions of the same space where resources shift, hazards evolve, and combat rules change.” This means that any rule they may have learned previously does not automatically apply. Instead, players must rely on their adaptability and creativity to think quickly and respond to enemies.
Of course, one hero cannot be trusted to save an entire city on their own, officially allowing One to recruit NPC allies. As One, a “small crew of misfits stands with you. Some out of loyalty. Some out of guilt. Some because they have nowhere else to go.” Prospective Fading Echo players are reminded that “saving a fractured world isn’t just about power. It’s about who’s still standing when the dust settles.”
