The World Ends With You Final Remix Gets North American Release Date

Back in June, Nintendo revealed that The World Ends With You Final Remix would be releasing in Japan on September 27. However, at the time we weren’t given North American date and some fans were concerned that the cult classic JRPG would miss the holiday window. Nintendo put those fears to rest as they have just announced that The World Ends With You Final Remix will be releasing on October 12 in North America as well as Europe on the Nintendo Switch.

First released on the Nintendo DS back in 2007, The World Ends With You was critically acclaimed for its original art style and unique RPG touch-stylus mechanics. The game is still revered to this day, so it’s no wonder that fans have been clamoring for an update. Those same touch mechanics are still being utilized, as playing the game in Undocked mode will enable the classic button-touch controls. When the Switch is docked, players will use the new button mechanics being introduced in this version. In addition to being ported to Nintendo’s newest home console, the game will also include new music, some remixes, a new scenario, and brand new art by Tetsutya Nomura, a key artist from the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series. Players can also bring along a friend to play the new Co-op mode, for an amazing multiplayer experience.

Along with the announcement came a new trailer, which includes the characters, landscape of Shibuya, and some nice remix music from the game. The World Ends With You Final Remix releases on October 12 for the Nintendo Switch. You can check out the new trailer here:
