The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Surpassed More Than 1 Million Players in Less Than a Day

The game may have only released over the weekend but it’s already become one of the biggest titles of the Summer. Gun Interacive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has achieved a major milestone, surpassing more than one million players. Even more incredible is that the title did this in less than 24 hours after launching last week on Friday, August 18. The main account on X made the official reveal, adding the question of who survived and who was turned into BBQ.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was released on several different platforms, including the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC. While Gun didn’t offer any specific statistical number for what system had the most players, it’s more than likely that the PC platform has the majority of these numbers. This is also emphasized by the fact that the title was made readily available on Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass as a Day 1 release, meaning that anyone who has a subscription to the service could download and play the title at any time on an Xbox and PC.

The game is of course inspired directly by the all-time classic horror film from 1974. The characters, levels, and even the clothing are all taken right from the film’s aesthetics, making it as if you truly are living in the world of the horrifying Leatherface. Gun Interactive is no stranger to this type of genre, as they were also the same developer who created the Friday The 13th title, which plays exactly the same as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which in turn is inspired by the famous Dead by Daylight. Even so, this time around their newest IP appears to be much more streamlined, and more content likely on the way, those player numbers are potentially going to go up over the remainder of the year.
