The Secret Cove – A Myst-Inspired Adventure Game Makes Its Way to Kickstarter

Chesterfield based Indie Development Studio, Cheeky Sprite Studios, who is behind the point and click Myst-inspired adventure game, The Secret Cove, has turned their way to Kickstarter in order to help further develop the game. The game has been in development for almost two years and is slated for a Late Summer 2015 release on Windows 8 (PC, mobile, tablet), iOS, Android, Ouya, and PC/Mac via Steam.

In The Secret Cove, players experience a point and click adventure game that takes on a journey through beautiful scenes like the one above, in order to find the smugglers lost treasure, which you overheard two fishermen talk about at a local pub. You have been unlucky lately, with no work at all as a deckhand, but hearing the one guy talk about the treasures of a smuggler at an island called The Secret Cove, this might be the biggest break you ever had, that will bring you back up on your feet. Find pages from the journal of the smuggler, and put together the clues that will lead you to the hidden depths of ‘The Secret Cove’. Ready to collect everything possible in order to turn your life around and collect your fortune? Be prepared for the this adventure!

Project Director Suzanne Mosley-Payne said “We strived to make an in game world that’s interesting, interactive and that looks beautiful. We want players to immerse themselves fully in the game”

Cheeky Sprite Studios brought The Secret Cove to Kickstarter last month and will be ending on October 24th, with a set goal of £50,000 (close to $80k USD). Early this week, one of the Kickstarter updates for The Secret Cove mentioned the following, “As an *exclusive early backer reward* the first 500 backers will receive a free digital booklet ‘The Making Of The Secret Cove’ – this will include a behind the scenes look into the creative process of taking a scene from concept, design, creation to becoming part of the game!” The support that is given will not only help with the completion of the game, but it will also help the game come onto more platforms, plus supporting will give a potential to any gamers out there around the world for shot to become armchair investors.
