Amazing Frog? Flops Onto Steam Greenlight

Fans of comedic physics-based open world games like Octodad and Goat Simulator will probably take great interest in Amazing Frog?, a game previously exclusive to the Ouya that is now making its way to the PC via Steam Greenlight.

The concept of Amazing Frog? is immediately apparent from the manner in which its title is posed as a question. Amazing Frog? Not so Amazing Frog? Something in between? It’s completely up to you.

The game takes place in a recreation of the English town of Swindon, and the player, a bipedal frog of ceaseless flatulence, is free to commit all manner of mayhem and physics-defying acts. “Fire crossbows, remotely control a pigeon on a skateboard, rebound off bouncy castles, fight to be crowned ‘King of Swindon’ and fire yourself out of cannons,” reads the official announcement, “Explore amazing environments like Swindon town centre, a zombie frog infested sewer, The Swindon Space Program’s underground laboratory and the Moon Space station.”

Amazing Frog? was initially released on the Ouya last year, where it became the most popular title on the micro console. Its popularity, boosted by the likes of PewDiePie, generated enough interest that two-man developer Fayju decided to put out a PC release: “We were really surprised by the huge amount of support we got from the players and fans when we first launched Amazing Frog? last year,” they said, “We have spent the last year growing and improving the game based on community feedback, but the main thing that we always get asked is “When is the game coming to Steam?” So here it is. Amazing Frog? has crashed its way onto Greenlight.”

This will not be a simple port, however, as Fayju have emphasized that the Steam version will have remastered graphics and additional content such as a new city, new toys to screw around with, and more singleplayer and multiplayer modes.

If that sounds well and good to you, then it will serve you well to head over to the game’s Greenlight page and support it.
