Earlier today, the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate professional player Nairoby “Nairo” Quezada announced via Twitter that he would be hosting the 12th installment in his Naifu Wars online tournament series. Registration for the event is free and players can sign up on the tournament’s smash.gg page until June 12th, when pre-registration for the online event closes. Due to issues with Nintendo online servers, players that want to enter are required to have a LAN adapter and Ethernet connection for their switch consoles, an effort being made to reduce lag during matches. Entry for the tournament is free, and the tournament-style will be in a 1v1 format with no items on, a common ruleset for the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate esports community.

The Naifu Wars #12 tournament will be taking place on the weekend of June 12th, and entry for the tournament is only available to Nairo’s Twitch subscribers unless the entry cap is not met. Players will be able to communicate with one another for their matches through the smash.gg client and tutorials for how to enter and operate the website can be found on tutorials available on the tournament’s smash.gg page. The 512 entrant-capped tournament will have a prize pool of $1,000 that will go to the top 8 finalists, including the top 8 matches being live-streamed on Nairo’s Twitch channel.  Registration for the event will be ending at 5:00 P.M EST on Friday, June 12th, with the tournament beginning an hour later. Non-subscribers to Nairo’s channel will be eligible to register for the event if the entrant cap is not met three hours prior to the registration deadline.
