Super Evil Megacorp Announces Vainglory 5V5 Release Date, Upcoming Esports Details & More

Vainglory is leveling up from 3v3 to 5V5, and to celebrate, Super Evil Megacorp held a pre-launch party stream, which was hosted in partnership with Razer. Vainglory is a mobile RTS game that really challenges players, and pushes graphics on the mobile platform to new heights. With the release of Vainglory 5V5 incoming fans have a lot to be excited for as the developers have a lot to offer in this mobile game. It was here where the official release date for 5V5, which is February 13th globally, was revealed along with some exciting news in regards to esports and new partnerships.

Vainglory going up to 5V5 means that players will have to rely more on strategic means to win battles rather than mechanical controls. This update also brings about an optimized engine, higher frame rates, and some new music composed by Joris De Man, whom previously worked on Horizon Zero Dawn and the Killzone series. They developers praised that all the music during matches will be different depending on how each battle unfolds. The stream also had some big news in terms of the future of esports for the game. Super Evil Megacorp was happy to announce that not only will Vainglory esports be transitioning from 3V3 to 5V5 but, also that the preseason will officially begin this April, while the beginning of season 1 will start in June.

On top of this they also announced that esports production company ESP Gaming will be their production partner going forward. The host of the stream, Razer, was also revealed to be partnering up with SEMC for overall game development, hardware optimization, marketing, and esports as well. As for what comes next for Vainglory, the developers are hard at work building features for 5v5 such as rankings and a progression system. After the announcement of the partnership during the stream, ESP Gaming president Jeff Liboon had a few choice words to say about the game and why they partnered with SEMC. He stated that they “believed in the future of mobile esports,” and that “Vainglory is the best mobile esport to date and may be the best mobile game ever created.”
