PlayStation announced that a State of Play would be happening today, featuring news and updates on more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games from studios around the world. Here’s a recap of everything that was revealed during today’s presentation.
Astro Bot is getting some new DLC later this year. 5 new speedruns are coming to the game along with 10 new special bots including members of the Helldivers squad and Eve from Stellar Blade.
The Midnight Walk is the next game from the developers of Lost in Random, Moonhood. The game is entirely made of clay and will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2.
Players take on the role of The Burnt One, a mysterious being who has dug themselves out of a muddy grave to find their purpose. The Burnt One finds it in Potboy, a little dormant lantern create that gets reignited and brought to life.

Hell is Us is a third-person action-adventure game set in a complex world that will challenge your intellect while delivering a compelling and mature story.
The biggest mechanic that developer Rogue Factor has done to make the game unique is to strip away all of the guides you might expect and have the player be the one to figure out where to go and what to do by relying on their own observation, reasoning, and intuition to progress.
A new story trailer was released for Metro: Awakening for PlayStation VR2, set to release on November 7, 2024.
ArcheAge Chronicles is coming to 2025. The game promises to deliver a more immersive experience with a strong emphasis on action combat and will feature epic large-scale raids and cooperative gameplay, offering a diverse array of activities for players to enjoy.
Palworld is now available on PS5.
Lunar Remastered Collection brings together Lunar: Silver Star Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete, now with updated graphics, sound, and new quality-of-life improvements.
TMNT Shredder’s Revenge is getting new DLC featuring two new playable characters Mona Lisa and Mondo Gecko as well as a new remixed OST including artists such as Jake Kaufman, Tomoya Tomita, Sean Bialo, Keiji Yamagishi, Button Masher, Anamanaguchi, and more. The Radical Reptiles DLC is available now.
In addition to everything revealed at today’s Sonic Central, it’s been revealed that Sonic X Shadow Generations will get a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie pack on December 12. The pack features the movie version of Shadow with Keanu Reeves reprising his role.
Fantasian Neo Dimension is set to release on December 5, 2024. The game follows Leo who embarks on a multi-dimensional adventure to recover his lost memories and discover the secrets behind a strange mechanical infection that is threatening to destroy the world.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard got a new gameplay trailer featuring a look at combat against dragons.
Alan Wake II’s next expansion, The Lake House is set to release next month in October. The new expansion features the return of the Federal Bureau of Control through the lens of Alan Wake.
Hitman: World of Assassination is coming to PSVR 2 in December. World of Assassination features the entire Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy which will now be playable in VR.
The VR version supports dual-wielding and a wide array of actions and interactions including performing actions with the use of both controllers, active reloading, on-body weapon holstering, aiming through the sniper’s scope, and manual interactions to take disguises.
Enhancements have been added to improve the core VR experience, such as room-scale implementation, spatial interactions to touch, grab, and position, integration of the PlayStation VR2 controllers’ adaptative triggers, and many more.
After getting initially teased and leaked at Comic-Con, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered has been officially revealed and is coming on November 10.
In addition to the usual improvements you’d see with remasters and remakes, Aspyr focused on five new additions to the game, control improvements, camera upgrades, trophies, a map & compass, and a photo mode.

In Towers of Aghasba, the Shimu tribe return to their homeland of Aghasba, where they fled from 50 years ago when the withered invaded and wrecked havoc on everything in its path. Despite the ravaged state of the land, the Shimu are intent on reclaiming their home and rebuilding their civilization. You are tasked to be a junior architect to aid in this endeavor.
The new gameplay trailer features a look at establishing villages, restoring the land’s ecosystems, and the dangers throughout Aghasba as well as a short look at co-op.
Lego Fortnite getting a new split-screen mode. There is also a new limited edition DualSense wireless controller that features fan-favorite characters from the Fortnite universe Fishstick and Peely.
Dynasty Warriors Origins is set to release on January 17, 2025. The new game takes place inside the Three Kingdoms but includes an original protagonist that will partake in this tale.
The protagonist is a traveling martial artist with amnesia, and during his travels he meets many famous (and infamous) warriors from the era. Some of these fighters will align with the nameless hero, while others will become his enemy as he learns to navigate the dangerous world of the Three Kingdoms.
Monster Hunter: Wilds is launching on February 28, 2025. This new trailer provides the first look at the game’s main monster which serves as the catalyst for the dramatic events that kick off the events of the story and the formation of the Forbidden Lands Research Commission
LEGO Horizon Adventures is set to release on November 14, 2024, for PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Pre-orders for the game will start on October 3. The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game features roller coaster customization, three iconic Horizon outfits, and outfits as Ratchet, Rivet, and Sackboy.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to release later this year on October 31, 2024. This new version of the game features over 10 hours of re-recorded conversation, mocap, and countless graphical improvements to bring the game up to the same visual fidelity as the sequel, Forbidden West.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will also boast some of the PS5’s other capabilities such as enhanced audio with PS5 Tempest 3D Audio tech, the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and many of the accessibility features that are included in Horizon Forbidden West.
Stellar Blade will be getting a new update bringing a photo mode to the game with the ability to choose poses, expressions, and filters. The game’s soundtrack is also now available on select streaming services.
Developer Shift Up also announced a collaboration with Nier Automata that is due out in 2024.
PlayStation took the opportunity to reveal what’s coming to PlayStation Plus next month. WWE 2k24, Dead Space, and Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! will be available for all PS Plus members on October 1. PlayStation also announced that Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Dino Crisis are joining the PS Plus Classics Catalog and that The Last of Us Part 1 will be available for PS Plus Premium and Extra members on September 26 in celebration of The Last of Us day.

Games included in the montage include Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Gran Turismo 7, Hogwarts Legacy, Alan Wake II, Stellar Blade, Dragon’s Dogma II, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Rise of the Ronin, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, The First Descendent, The Crew: Motorfest, Resident Evil Village, Demon’s Souls, Resident Evil 4, F1 24, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima has been officially revealed and announced. Ghost of Yōtei follows a new ghost Atsu in 1603, more than 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima.
The story is set in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, a towering peak in the heart of Ezo, an area of Japan known as Hokkaido in present day. In 1603, this area was outside the rule of Japan, and filled with sprawling grasslands, snowy tundras, and unexpected dangers. It’s a far cry from the organized samurai clans who lived in Tsushima, and it’s the setting for an original story.
The game is set to release in 2025.
