After five years, State of Decay has returned to be more savage than ever. Now, these survivors are far more comfortable in the rot infested world, having adapted well to their bloody environment. In the new State of Decay 2 trailer, we watch the survivors play to their strengths, outsmart stressful situations, and still manage to live decent lives.
Undead Labs has thrillingly upped the ante this year, providing a cleaner and more organized system for building and adjusting stats. Survivors confidently live off their skills alone, which forces players to strategically work as team to provide where one is lacking.
The last ones standing must trudge through an endless sea of corpses, making due with the materials that were left behind. Living in a world where not even the military could stop the infected, players will learn that the key to their survival relies on much more than a gun. State of Decay 2 challenges gamers to utilize their base as that will be their only means of proper recovery. They will learn the fundamentals of building and harvesting, the basic foundations of living. A base can also operate as a makeshift war room where players can safely strategize their most genius plans to exterminate the deadheads.
The game gives players the decision to customize a base and develop their characters. They are entirely responsible for their own survival, and this strongly emphasizes the feeling of being in a post-apocalyptic world. Aside from growing characters and a community, survivors must come to an agreement as to exactly what their moral code is. Are they simply focused on maintaining what they already have, or will they desire to expand and take over?
State of Decay 2 came in full throttle and loyal fans are absolutely stoked for what is to come. After successful stream hosted by Undead Labs, they unquestionably left a great impression. It was on April 30th when the beta sign ups began and all Xbox slots were filled the next day. Though it was stated on the State of Decay 2 twitter page that beta testing for PC is still open, it is unspecified for how long. For now, players can pre-order State of Decay 2 where you can choose from four different packs. But if some gamers choose to pass on the bundles, they can look forward to playing the game on May 22 for Xbox Console and PC.
