Seoul Dynasty Signs Heo “Gambler” Jin-woo For Stage 2 of the Overwatch League

In Overwatch League news today, the Seoul Dynasty announced that they have added the noted Overwatch professional Heo “Gambler” Jin-woo to their roster, to help carry them through Stage 2 of this year’s competition.  A known expert in the healer role, Gambler looks to round out the support half of the Dynasty’s roster to give the team a competitive edge moving forward.

According to a press release sent out this morning, the Seoul Dynasty’s league scouting and research had indicated a need to deepen the healing and support side of their roster.  Gambler, as one of the top-ranked Korean Lucio players and arguably a top-10 Mercy player worldwide, would provide strong support alongside Yang “tobi” Jin-mo, a veteran of the Dynasty roster and currently the only player in the designated healer position for the team.

Jin-woo has said he considers it a “great honor” to join the Seoul Dynasty, as Seoul is his home city and the team has a proven record of success in the league.  In adjusting to his new team, he says he will first and foremost be “focusing on team-building” while familiarizing himself with the team’s strategies.

On the acquisition of Gambler, Seoul Dynasty coach Baek Kwang-jin said “We’ve finally assembled our perfect roster. Stage 1 provided us insight into each team’s strategies and matchup potentials…now we are working to create new strategies by incorporating and coordinating with Gambler. You can expect to see us perform with innovative tactics during Stage 2.”

The Seoul Dynasty started strong in Stage 2 of the Overwatch League with a 4-0 victory over the Los Angles Valiant on February 21.  Playoffs for Stage 2 begin next month, with finals following shortly after.  All games for Season 1 of the Overwatch League will continue to take place in the new Blizzard esports venue in Burbank, California.
