It looks like another one of Sony’s exclusives might be making its way to the PC market. A recent SteamDB post suggests that Housemarque’s critically acclaimed 2021 title Returnal is potentially coming to PC, as it describes the title in a specific fashion. This includes keywords such as “roguelike,” “bullet hell,” and “third-person shooter.” It also mentions the Tower of Sisyphus, which is Returnal’s endless mode as well as Atropos, the game’s main planet.
All of the keywords, and the obvious ones, are major indications that Returnal could make its way to the PC platform in the near future. It also helps that many other PlayStation exclusives have come to the PC platform at some point, making them available to a much wider audience in the process. This includes God of War, Days Gone, and Horizon Zero Dawn to name few. Sony is also bringing the Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection to PC in the foreseeable future, which will have both Uncharted 4: A Thieves End, and Uncharted: Lost Legacy.
As we already mentioned, Returnal launched in 2021 to critical acclaim. The title was nominated for several awards at The Game Awards 2021, and also won Game of the Year at the BAFTA Game Awards 2022. Due to the game’s massive success, Sony opted to completely acquire Housemarque and welcomed them into the PlayStation Studios umbrella. With all of these titles already on Steam, and Sony’s plan to release more IPs for the aforementioned market, it’s almost foregone conclusion that Returnal will be available on PC at some point. However, until Sony makes an official reveal, this is merely all conjecture, regardless of the information presented. Thankfully, Sony just announced a brand new State of Play that will take place on June 2, which is next week on Thursday.
