Resident Evil 2 Timed Demo Will Be Playable Soon

As we move closer to January, more news has been releasing about the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Most recently we saw Mr. X shown off in all of his obscenely large and terrifying glory. This complete remake has some obvious differences in gameplay among other things which has given it polarizing reception to say the least. Luckily, everyone will be given a chance to form their own opinions thanks to the fact that True Achievements found a demo on the Microsoft Store that will release relatively soon.

How soon? The demo will be available on January 11, and on January 31, it will be removed from the store again. This isn’t the only limited aspect of this demo, however. The demo is a “1-Shot”, which doesn’t mean that players will only be allowed to play until they die, despite the implications of the name. The unique aspect of the demo is that it must be completed within 30 minutes. Between taking in the atmosphere or blasting through the opening of the game, players will have to check their priorities to see what they want to do with their highly limited time.

The demo will more than likely be sectioned off to just the opening of the game as to avoid giving away too much before release. While that sounds absurd considering the already existent 30-minute time limit, the world record for Resident Evil 2 speedruns is currently under 49 minutes, which is more than enough time to show off significant portion of the game. A lot of people seem divided about this game, as it can even be seen in the fact that people are even taking sides on just the demo announcement. Though, if there is one thing I think everyone is satisfied about in regards to this remake, it is that Tofu is back and will be in full glorious HD.

Resident Evil 2 releases on January 25, 2019 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
