Resident Evil 2 Remake Reveals Ada Gameplay and Mr. X Tyrant Boss Fights

The time is approaching fast for the Resident Evil 2 Remake to drop into stores and homes. The highly anticipated remake has had a lot of controversies and questions surrounding it and what it entails. The main things that are understood so far are: the game is a remake from top to bottom, and not a remaster from the original Playstation 1 game, and the Lickers have in fact been revealed, along with some fancy new cosmetics. But, with some new videos showcasing off some important aspects of the upcoming game, hopefully some questions will be answered.

The first video shows off a little more Leon S. Kennedy game play and some more interactions with Ada Wong. But, it also brings up some Ada game play that might be intriguing:

In the gameplay video, a number of things are revealed. First, there are going to be levels where players will take on the role of Ada Wong, which is obvious enough. It also seems like she relies more on the technology she has than weapons to make her way through the levels. Given that the game is still based in 1998, the wireless hacking device that Ada carries adds more to her being three steps ahead as well as the mystery that surrounds her spy story.

It also shows that the classic red dress is returning for Ada’s attire. When she was first revealed back at the end of September, she had been sporting the trench coat look with sunglasses, instead of her classic red. This goes to show that the red hasn’t left, and it’s still as vibrant as ever.

The second video shows off more of Claire Redfield , which had already been showcased during the Licker preview for the game. But this time, she faces off a familiar and very obnoxious foe, Mr. X:

Luckily, it seems that the player will be able to hear Mr. X approaching because his boots can be heard thumping from down the hall. And just like in the original, he doesn’t go down easy. The video shows off the best way to deal with him: stun him, and run in the opposite direction. Whether or not he’ll stop following after a certain amount of time is still up in the air, or if he does go down after a number of hits to continue breaking path.

And in the final few moments, Claire gets a mysterious phone call from a man. Who is it? Given the plot of the original story, there’s a good chance it might be Mr. William Birkin. And speaking of the Birkin family, it also looks like Sherry will be a playable character once more, just this time as her former self.
