It looks like we’re going to have to wait a bit longer until we get our hands on Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. According to report from Bloomberg, Rocksteady’s upcoming IP will be delayed until sometime in 2023, missing its tentative 2022 release time frame. The emphasis on this delay seems to draw from a recent tweet by Warner Media’s CEO Jason Kilar, which lists a few of the titles that are being considered a main focus for 2022. As Bloomberg points out, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is not listed in that lineup.
Keep in mind that while Bloomberg has reported on this, neither Warner Media or Rocksteady have made any official comment in regards to this. It’s also especially odd since the title received a full gameplay trailer just two months ago at The Game Awards 2021. From the looks of the trailer itself, the game appeared to be close to completion. However, in the ever-changing landscape of the COVID-19 Pandemic, it’s possible that the studio has seen some setbacks that they haven’t disclosed as of yet. As we said, there is still no concrete release date, and all of this could change with a moment’s notice.
As for some of the other titles in the aforementioned tweet, Gotham Knights is still slated to launch in 2022 after it was delayed from the initial 2021 time frame. Hogwarts Legacy is one title that we haven’t heard of now for nearly year, and more than a year since any official update. The title was also supposed to launch in 2021 before being pushed to 2022 early last year. There’s still a lot to unpack here and since we’re still in the beginning of the year, it’s still too early to assume that any of these entries won’t release before its conclusion. As for Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, hopefully, Rocksteady will have an official word on that in the foreseeable future.
