Remnant from the Ashes Released Introducing a Challenging 3rd Person Shooter

For those who are looking for a satisfying challenge, Remnant from the Ashes may tickle that fancy and has just recently released. The post-apocalyptic game created by Gunfire Games provides a unique world filled with terrifying beings called the Root that will stop at nothing to take you down. The game provides a hard challenge much like the Soulsborne games, except this time around, players will always face something new each time as they navigate through dynamically generated levels in a 3rd person shooter fashion fending off the Root, taking down bosses and scavenging loot on your own or with a couple of friends.

In Remnant from the Ashes, players will take on the role of a beacon of light looking to rid the world of all the Root and it’s evil. Luckily if the challenge is too burdensome on your own, players have the ability to invite two other friends to their world and help accomplish missions. However, friends that join a world will keep all of the experience and loot they have found there but will not progress in their story. Fortunately, because every run in Remnant is dynamically generated, helping friends complete the same mission won’t seem as grindy as everything will seem different in each player’s world.

Remnant’s combat has a very Soulsbourne feel to it.  Every hit you take will hurt considerably, dodge rolling will be vital and healing your wounds will need to be done sparingly. Players will still have access to certain melee weapons but the combat in Remnant is more focused around guns making this more of a 3rd person shooter. Players will find new guns and augmentations that can be applied to their guns as they defeat the Root and large scale bosses as they progress through the game.

Remnant is looking to provide an interesting experience to players who like a challenge and are willing to learn through failure. Enemies are tough and even more so with friends making this a thrilling co-op experience. It may look like Darksouls with guns but developers have made it much more than that making it highly unique. Remnant from the Ashes is available now on Steam, PlayStation®4,  and Xbox One.

Nathan Arquiette: Mom and Dad would never buy me a gaming console growing up, so I bought my own Dreamcast when I was 10 years old. Ever since then my passion for gaming went wild. Why watch a movie or read a book when you can take part in the plot playing a game was my philosophy. "Video games rot your brain" but I had a 10th grade reading level in the 6th grade all thanks to RPG's. Talking and writing about games is something I will never get tired of.
