In a recent Remedy Q3 financial report the studio provided some much desired information on their future titles. Without getting too ahead, it’s important to speak on the success that Alan Wake 2, Remedy’s most recent title release, has had since its launch on Friday. The game is surely looking to be Game of the Year candidate, with many saying that it’s deserving of something far greater than a Game of the Year award. While Alan Wake 2 is a critical marvel and players are still enjoying their path through the dark place, it’s also exciting to look into the future of one of the most ambitious studios in the gaming space today.
In the financial report, much information was revealed to the public. Information includes that the remake of Max Payne 1&2 is well underway and is into the production readiness stage. The team says that they have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game. Control 2 is continuing through its proof of concept stage. The studio claims that the sequel to one of 2019’s best games is ambitious in both design and game build. Remedy is continuing to push for their Remedy Verse to be more fleshed out with the obvious Alan Wake 2 release and the future Control 2 release. It is unclear how the Max Payne remakes will tie in to the studios in-game universe seeing as the remakes are being made with collaboration with Rockstar Games who own the right to Max Payne.
Alan Wake 2 marks the first of many great new game launches enabled by our multi-project model, which we have built over the years.
The rest of the mentioned projects in the financial report are two unnamed titles that have code names attached to them. One is Condor, a multiplayer co-op game that has moved on to the production readiness stage. The other secret title is codename Vanguard, which we have no more information about apart from the studio aiming to have the proof of concept stage finished by the end of the year.
There is much to look forward to if you’re a fan of Remedy Studios. Whether it be single-player titles or multiplayer titles, sequels, or new IP. But in the meantime go enjoy one of the year’s best releases Alan Wake 2.
