Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Will Release in Late 2022

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet were both announced to be released in late 2022. The game will be released on the Nintendo Switch and is a huge development for the company as they look to create an open-world game. The company has already said that the game will feature an “open world where various towns with no borders blend seamlessly into the wilderness.” In the past, every Pokémon game was a closed world where the trainers were set in a specific region. The upcoming game is expected to contain many different pokémon throughout the world as the company stated that ”Pokémon can be seen everywhere in this wide-open world – in the skies, in the sea, and on the streets.”

As fans wonder about new pokémon that will be added to the game, there has already been confirmation about three new starter pokémon. The first option is the grass cat named Sprigatito. Similar to many grass-type pokémon, Sprigatito will contain the overgrow ability to help boost grass moves at certain moments. The second option is the fire crocodile named Fuecoco who will contain the blaze ability to allow for stronger fire moves at low health. Finally, the last option for the trainers is the water duckling named Quaxly. Quaxly will contain the torrent ability to help the strength of water moves at low health.

Although players do not know much about the differences between the Scarlet and Violet versions of the game, there has been one confirmation about outfits that trainers will wear. Based on the version of the game, the trainers will be wearing different outfits. More information will likely be released as the games come closer to their release date at the end of 2022.

Despite knowing very little about the game as a whole, many fans are excited about the potential for an open-world Pokémon game that can change the entire franchise!
