Fans of the Rhythm Heaven franchise will soon be able to make their own custom levels with the upcoming public release of Heaven Studio. Developed by RHeavenStudio, Heaven Studio is an open-source playable level editor featuring recreations of every Rhythm Heaven mini-game.
Players will have the power to make their own custom remixes or try out ones from other people. Heaven Studio does not use any music or charts from the official games. This fan project is a love letter to all things Rhythm Heaven and is, therefore, truly free to play.
Heaven Studio will initially release will around 50 mini-games for players to choose from, with more following. Those who are curious about its development can check out Heaven Studio’s official GitHub and Itch.io pages for more information. The tool is currently still in an Alpha build but that shouldn’t stop players from testing it out themselves.
Rhythm Heaven has become one of the quintessential franchises in the modern Rhythm game subgenre. Additionally, with the help of social media, the franchise has regained a large amount of popularity thanks to fan animations and memes.
While there hasn’t been a new title in the franchise like the official release of Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Heaven Studio is another way to celebrate the franchise’s long legacy.
Heaven Studio is set to release on January 15, 2024.
