Norse-Themed City Builder, Frozenheim, Coming to Steam Early Access Soon

Recently, Norse-themed games have seemed to take-off in the last couple of months with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla setting records for Ubisoft’s biggest PC launch ever as well as Valheim reaching upwards of one million sales in its first week in Early Access. Soon, another game is hoping to join in the hype. Frozenheim is a Norse-themed city builder and real-time strategy game coming soon to Early Access on Steam.

Coming from the developer, Paranoid Interactive, and publisher, Hypserstrange, Frozenheim will transport players back in time to the era of the Vikings for them to create a settlement to stay alive as well as attempt to rise to power. Players start off banished from the land of their ancestors and must set out on their own to build a Viking settlement from the ground up.

As their town grows, players will have to protect their inhabitants safe from cold, hunger, and invaders. If they can accomplish all this, players can then venture out to raid neighboring clans and ultimately conquer the Frozen North. The Early Access version of the game supports multiplayer mode so players can choose to invade or form alliances with other players.

Frozenheim is expected to be in Early Access for approximately six months, which means it should fully release in early 2022. The full release is expected to have a fleshed-out single-player campaign, however, right now, the Early Access version will be focused on basic gameplay and multiplayer.

While there is not a price currently listed, Paranoid Interactive has stated that they do plan on raising the price as they add new content, so if Frozenheim seems like your type of game make sure to grab it when it comes out in a couple of months.

Currently, Frozenheim is expected to release to Early Access on Steam on May 20.
