Nintendo Switch Consoles Are Warping

With the Nintendo Switch being out for only a month and already selling more units than the Wii, it looks like things couldn’t be better for the big N, or so it would seem. Over the weekend, Switch owners have gone to online forums to complain about a potential defect with the blockbuster console. There’s one image in particular that’s being spread all over the internet, which comes from a Redditor by the name of _NSR. The photo of the Switch comes with a caption that’s been grabbing every Switch owner’s attention: “The Nintendo Switch Is Starting To Warp While Only Being In Dock Mode.”

Other users in that Reddit thread have noted similar warping in their Switch’s, which is especially troubling seeing as the console has only been out for one month. Some users on Reddit have suggested that it could be a problem with the dock itself, speculating that third party-created docks will become the preferred choice among gamers. However, posts from other Switch gamers who claim to play mostly in handheld mode show that their systems are also warping, suggesting that it may not be related to the dock at all.

There are several outside factors that could contribute to a warped Switch, such as whether or not its being kept in a well ventilated area or if someone’s been playing rough with the system. However, the number of reported cases are far too numerous to have those be the only cause, making it far more likely that this is the case of faulty manufacturing on Nintendo’s part.

If you’re a Switch owner and you’ve noticed your Switch doesn’t exactly have a straight edge anymore, be sure to contact Nintendo’s support team.
